To push trophies you need strong armies. At Town Hall 4 your mission to push trophies starts. Up until now, it was possible to loot a base and even three-star it by using just one type of troop unit. But now scoring three stars with just all barbarians and all archers is almost impossible.

If the base is well designed with the proper protection to mortar then you can not score three stars with just all barbarians or all archers.

This is the reason why you have to start training hybrid armies at town hall 4. You have to carefully compose an army in which each troop has a well-defined role.

An army might look good at papers but if you do not know how to properly create a funnel in a base and how to deploy the right troop unit at right time at the right place then you might lose the battle.

Our focus here is to provide you with an army composition that can easily score 3 stars on any given town hall 4 base. Also, our focus is on introducing funneling to our readers. Therefore several of our army compositions are solely dependent on funneling.

At this town hall, our main enemy is the mortar. Therefore, most of your attack strategies and deployment tactics should focus on it.

Even though we unlock Balloons at this town hall but they are too weak and slow to do an all-balloon attack. Yes, Balloons do have the highest Damage per second and hitpoints but one baby dragon in clan castle can ruin your plan.

If the opponent has hidden clan castle troops that can attack in the air then our all-balloon strategy will fail instantly.

We need an army that can score 3 stars in any situation. Here are the 4 best armies that can score 3 stars in clan wars and multiplayer battles are town hall 4 –

Army 1 GiBaW [Town Hall 4 Attack Strategy]

  • Army Composition – 4 Giant, 4 Wall breaker, 52 Barbarian
  • Training Time – 9 Min 12 Sec

If you are still concerned about elixir usage then GiBaW can be the most cost-effective army that you can train at town hall 4.

The strategy is simple – You will use a giant as a meat shield that will take all the damage from Mortar and cannons, You will use a wall breaker to destroy walls in Giant’s path and funnel them inside the base. Drop barbarians in the group of 3-3 but not back to back.

Your giants will destroy the mortar. Then drop the barbarians right after it. The barbarians will sweep away the rest of the base while giants will keep the defenses busy.

Army 2 GiArW [Town Hall 4 Attack Tips]

One thing that barbarian lack in the GiBaW attack is that you might encounter a base with a double layer of walls. Your mortar might be hidden beyond the first compartment.

This means that your giant will stay locked away on the exterior and take too much time in destroying defenses in the first layer.

A good workaround would be to replace barbarians with archers. The sneaky archers can destroy any defense hiding in the first compartment beyond the walls.

Army 4 GiLoon [Town Hall 4 Attack]

  • Army Composition – 3 Giants, 3 Wall Breakers, 8 Balloons, 19 archers
  • Training Time – 10 Min 22 sec
  • Training Cost – 22400 elixir

This army is not for noobs. You need to know how to sync various troops in an attack. If you mastered this army then you are ready for the next town hall.

Usually, this army is used in clan wars as it can perfectly score 3 stars. Also, it uses a good amount of elixir therefore it is not an evergreen army.

The strategy is simple – Your Giants are required to destroy the AIR DEFENSE. Yes, they focused on mortar in the previous attack but here our main weapon is balloons, not giants. Our Giants are expendables that are an army to destroy AD.

Your archers will help giants in quickly destroying the base. As soon as the Air Defense is down we will drop archers in two groups – 4 balloons in each group with a minimum 3 tile gap. Drop balloon from the side of Archer towers.

Enjoy watching your balloon destroying opponents’ base mercilessly.

BONUS -Unbeatable Army Giant Walk [Best TH4 Attack Strategy]

  • Army Composition – 5 Giants,4 wall breakers, 21 Barbarians, 26 Archers, and HEALER in Clan Castle
  • Training Time – 10 min 14 sec
  • Training Cost – 6890 elixir

This Town Hall 4 Army Can guarantee to give you 3 stars. All you need is a healer in clan castle. You can carry out this attack in two ways. If the mortar and Air defense are far away from each other then deploy giants toward the mortar. Deploy the clan castle healer right after the giants.

The healer will heal the giants continuously thereby reducing the damage of cannon, archer, and mortar. Make way for giants using the wallbreaker. Use Barbarians if you get a good gap inside the base.

The barbarians will quickly destroy the mortar and air defense. Deploy archers wisely according to the situation.

Another way is if air defense and mortar are close to each other (in the second layer). Deploy giants in such a way that the healer will stay out of range of air defense. Clear the extra buildings outside using small units of barbarian troops. Use archers to destroy archer towers or cannons behind walls.
