Decorations and Obstacles are two underutilized items in the clash of clans. When you enter the shop in your home village you will see a tab of decorations and flags.
You will see multiple decorations that you can buy by either paying via elixir or gold and sometimes even via gems.
Clash of Clans also releases decorative buildings now and then during special events like Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Clash Anniversary.
What do decorations do in COC?
This is a common question asked by the average clash of clans players. They often wonder what to make out of these decorations.
Many clashers often think that this is just a way to show off your base worth in COC. But This is not the only reason to buy decorations.
There are multiple benefits of using decorations on your base in a clash of clans. Decorations can help make your base look intimidating especially after th11.
All you have to do is buy your favorite decorations from the shop.
Are decorations worth it COC?
The Short answer is Yes.
You are not paying real money to buy them. The gold or elixir that you use to buy decorations can be easily recovered in multiplayer battles or by winning clan wars.
Several decorations like the Mighty Hero Statue require 500 gems but I would still say it’s worth it because you can easily recover this many gems by removing obstacles for 3 months and completing events.
COC Decorations Designs
When you buy decorations from the shop you have the freedom to place Them anywhere on the base. Many players use it to their advantage to make a beautiful-looking base design.
Here are some of the major advantages of using decoration on your base –
- Your Base looks Bigger
One dream of every clash player is to use the whole village area in their base design. This is not possible until town hall 10 as the number of buildings and walls are not enough. However, after TH11 and onwards you can use multiple decorations use the whole village area.
- Your Base Looks Intimidating
Of course, you will be imposing over your opponent if you use too many decorations. This is a mind tactic that often works during multiplayer battles. I have seen a replay of many of my defenses where the attacker simply got overwhelmed and deployed troops at the wrong points.

Correctly placed statues can slow down ground troops thereby giving more time to cannon, archer tower, and mortar to kill them. This strategy especially works out for giants and barbarians.
- Affects Attacker Strategy in Clan War Leagues
Even though a player gets enough time to analyze the opponent base before attacking yet they commit mistakes due to clever use of decorations on the opponent base. You can wisely place your decorations near eagle artillery and inferno tower. Don’t forget to place traps near such buildings. You will see that how opponents’ troops often trigger traps.
This happens because the troops change their path around the decorations. Who knew that a correctly placed decoration can change the outcome of clan war?

This statue is only available for the builder base. You have to pay 500 gems for this mighty statie.
