Builder Base matchmaking is completely different from town hall multiplayer matchmaking. The sole reason supercell introduced builder base in clash of clans was to give clash royale a kind of one vs one battle experience.
UPDATE: After the lastest update of COC, now you have one builder halls and one OTTO outpost.Also, now you need to earn 10 stars irrespective of the fact that you get lesser or more stars than your opponent.
Builder base attacks are limited as you can only win 3 versus battles in 22 hours of the frame. You have only one master builder available at builder hall which slowly upgrades all the buildings.
If you are serious about upgrading your builder hall then you are required to win maximum battles and earn the highest loot bonus.

Leagues and Rewards Division in COC Builder Base
Your standing point in the league leaderboard determines the amount of win bonus that you will get. There are currently 36 leagues that are 100 to 200 trophies apart. The last league (i.e. 36) is for players above 6000 trophies.

What is the fastest way to get loot in the builder base?
How to get more loot in the builder base? As You can see from the chart, the fastest way to get loot in builder base is by getting placed in higher leagues. The higher league you are in the more loot bonus you will earn after every win.
I won’t recommend using gems to evade the 22 hours wait but still, many players do so. If you are one of them then surely you can win even more bonus.
How does matchmaking work in a builder base?
So how does builder base matchmaking works? The formula is simple you are matched with players in the same league as yours.
Now, these players can have around 200 trophies more or less than you. This is because in every league the top player and the bottom-most player have around 200 trophies gap. These two players may get matched with each other.
Usually, you will be matched with players of the same builder hall level. However, many clashers love to keep their trophy count low so that they stay in the lower league and get matched with weaker opponents.
If you follow this strategy too then keep in mind that you will get a much lower war win bonus.
If you want to follow this technique then the strategy is simple – You have to lose your trophy counts during the 22-hour wait. This is because your win won’t get you a loot bonus. By the time your daily win event unlocks you will be in the lower league.
You can easily win in the lower league thereby quickly storing elixir and gold.
What is the best army to use in a builder base?
After understanding builder base matchmaking many players often keep an eye on their trophy count. They often lower their trophy count to stay in a lower league.
If your target is the same then use the mass bomber army to attack the opponent. Usually, you will have missions to destroy walls in versus battles. Therefore this army will help you in completing those missions.
If you aim to win the versus battle then always use a ground army. Mass air attack army does not work well at builder base.
Usually, I prefer a Giant+Bomber+Cannon army because it can easily break down any given base. You can use the same.

Is it good to rush builder base?
If you are an experienced player who is playing with a secondary account then you can rush the builder base. Many players already know that we can unlock the sixth builder for the home village by doing certain missions at builder hall level 9.
Therefore you can rush to builder hall 9 to unlock the sixth builder and improve your home village upgrade strategies.
Builder Base Prestige Trophies 2022
Prestige trophies are equivalent to legendary trophies of the home village. You have to cross the 4000 trophies mark in a season. After this mark, the number of extra trophies you earn beyond 4000 would be counted as prestige trophies.
For example, if you have 4023 trophies by the end of a season then 23 trophies will be called prestige trophies.
Builder Base Legend League
You have to win a total of 3000 trophies to be included in the builder base legend league. You will also unlock the achievement champion builder after that.
Builder Base Loot Timer
When you go on the attack in versus battles you get one minute of preparation time. You can make a strategy and analyze the opponent base during this time. You can also change your army composition.
However, you cannot go to the next opponent base. You have to attack the given opponent base. As soon as you deploy a troop you get a 3-minute builder base loot timer. You have to score 100% destruction in under 3 minutes.
How to Join Versus Battle Tournament?
Supercell annually organizes the versus battle tournaments just like the world championship of COC. You can join the versus tournament by clicking the join now button. Usually, this tournament is organized during Christmas week each year.
