The Blacksmith building plays an important role in Clash of Clans as it determines the max level of hero equipment that a CoC player can upgrade.
If you have opened Clash of Clans after a long time then you might be confused by this new building and probably wondering –
What does the Blacksmith do in Clash of Clans?
Introduced at Town Hall level 8 in CoC, the Blacksmith enhances the capabilities of Heroes by providing unique equipment that boosts their abilities.
The Blacksmith in Clash of Clans upgrades Hero Equipment, which enhances the abilities of Heroes (Barbarian King, Archer Queen, Grand Warden and Royal Champion). Please note that each piece of Hero Equipment can provide active or passive abilities.
Also The Blacksmith provides two type of Hero Equipment:
- Common equipment which are easily available at each upgrade.
- Epic equipment that are obtained through special events.

What is the Blacksmith max level for TH8?
At Town Hall 8, The Blacksmith is unlocked at level 1 (in 1 day time). You will unlock the Earthquake Boots hero equipment used by Barbarian King. These boots allows BK to cause powerful earthquakes on enemy bases.
What is the max level for Blacksmith on TH9?
It will take you 2 days to max out the Blacksmith at level 2 on Town Hall 9. One second level of Blacksmith you will unlock the Giant Arrow hero equipment. This equipment is used by Archer Queen and it allows her to shoot a huge arrow across enemy base.
What is the max Blacksmith level at TH10?
You will move to level 3 of Blacksmith in just 3 days at Town Hall 10. Since there is no new hero introduced at TH10 therefore you will unlock hero equipment Vampstache that can be used by Barbarian King to heal himself.
What is the max level Blacksmith for TH11?
To move to max level 4 of Blacksmith at Town Hall 11 you will need 4 days. But it is worth it as the new hero equipment unlocked at this level is Rage Gem. This hero equipment is used by the newly introduced Grand Warden at TH11 and it allows him to cast an aura that makes friendly units to more damage.
What is the max level for Blacksmith at TH12?
At Town Hall 12, Your Blacksmith building moves to level 5 which unlocks the Healer Puppet Hero equipment. It will take 5 days to unlock the Healer puppet which is used by the Archer Queen. The Healer puppet allows Archer Queen to summon 1-3 healers and it is one of my favorite.
What is the max level of the Blacksmith in Clash of Clans Town Hall 13?
Your Blacksmith will max out at level 6 in 6 days at TH13. You will unlock the second hero equipment for Grand Warden namely Healing Tome. This common equipment allows GW to heal himself and all nearby friendly units.
What is the max level of Blacksmith at TH14?
In 7 days, You can max out your Blacksmith to level 7 at Town Hall 14. This upgrade will unlock the Hog Rider Puppet equipment which is used by the Royal Champion. One equipped, Your Royal Champion can summon 7-9 hog riders in battle.
What is the max level for Blacksmith at TH15?
Your Blacksmith will max out in 8 days at level 8 on Town Hall 15 and unlock the dullest hero equipment – Haste Vial. This common piece of Equipment is used by Royal Champion who will move and attacks faster.
What is the max level for Blacksmith at Town Hall 16?
Town Hall 16 allows Blacksmith to be upgraded to max level of 9 in 9 days. No new Hero Equipment is unlocked but we hope that in near future Supercell will introduce a cool equipment at this level.
Best Blacksmith Upgrades COC:
As we do not get any significant hero equipment at level 8 and 9 therefore most Clash of Clans players only focus upgrading Blacksmith to level 7.

The maximum level of Blacksmith building in Clash of Clans is level 9 which is available at Town Hall 16.
When was the blacksmith added to clash of clans?
Supercell introduced the Blacksmith on December 12, 2023.
The Blacksmith initially required gold for construction and upgrades. Clash of Clans developers changed the Blacksmith’s resource requirement to elixir on February 27, 2024.
Also remember that the Blacksmith uses ores as currency for hero equipment upgrades. Blacksmith levels determine ore storage capacity thus affecting upgrade potential.
