Welcome to the Award-Winning New Forest Safari Campers. Based in the heart of the New Forest, we are a dedicated team that brings our skills and expertise together with the aim of providing an unforgettable experience to our customers.
The stunning New Forest has been our home for several generations and we want to share the unique area with everyone. So whether you are after a fun-filled adventure break or a chill-axed holiday the New Forest has something for everyone!!
The Company was formed in November 2012 and now consists of three key team members, Edward Gray; Owner & Camper van guru, Karen Collins (Ed’s partner) and Amy Loader.
The idea of running a campervan hire business had been in the back of Ed’s mind for several years whilst working on his restoration business. And over the years Ed has built up a reputation of rrestoring bespoke & classic VW’s. So when you hire one of our campers you can be assured of a high standard of workmanship, ensuring safety and reliability.
Karen, Ed’s partner is a full time mum to their son, Isaac and also has a full time job. However we’re really lucky, Karen supports the business with her background in marketing, it’s invaluable, and with her finger on the pulse, keeps our website fresh and up to the minute.
As the summer of 2013 approached Ed had 4 bay window campers on fleet and ready for hire. The season started well and the business very quickly moved forward. By the start of 2014 we had increased the camper fleet with a further two (lovingly restored) split screens. At the same time Amy joined the camper crazy team. Amy looks after all the day-to-day management of the office and all aspects of customer service. Amy has lived in the local area her whole life that gives her extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas. We soon realized… Every business needs an Amy!
With an expanding business and fleet of campervans we also had to undertake the restoration of our premises. As we are located in the New Forest National Park we have to adhere to stringent planning regulations. This, of course, did not deter us! During one of the harshest winters on record the build started. It consisted of complete demolishment of existing buildings and sympathetically re-constructing to what you see today. We are super proud of the outcome and I’m sure you will agree!
New Forest Safari Campers now stand strong with an impressive fleet of campervans available to hire ranging from the iconic 60’s split screens to the classic early 70’s bay windows and even a modern T5.
We have been extremely busy over this winter and are adding another 3.. yes three VW Campervans to our fleet! Eek its soo exciting! Keep watching this space...
First of Three is Coral, our 1976 westfalia bay window. Formally a northern monkey, we lured him down to the south coast in the summer of 2014. Sad story really, Ed didn’t have time during the winter of 2014 to start his restoration #sadface , but there will be no holding him back this year - can't wait to see him finished.
Happy New Year to all our Friends & Customers - all the very best in health and happiness for 2016. Make Summer 2016 the best summer yet with you and your family by booking one of our VW Campervans Now!

We did it again! Passed the New Forest Tourism Association Quality Assessment. And of course the campers passed with flying colours!! Just another thing we are extremely proud of!
Kay Lindsell, one of the assessors sent us a lovely email;
“It was a joy to visit your superbly organised site and see your original certificates proudly displayed on the wall. You have all achieved so much since we visited your fledgling company over 2 years ago. The camper vans are obviously lovingly maintained as they don't seem to have aged in that time!
Now that your assessment is complete I will forward your forms to NFTA Admin. And your new certificates will follow in due course.
I hope your business continues to grow and that the new long distance VW camper Ash adds extra scope for enthusiasts.
Be assured you're in good hands when hiring a VW Campervan from New Forest Safari Campers!!

Through its charity auctions and other activities organised by Wave 105 Cash for Kids, over two million pounds has been raised in donations and gifts in kind since 2008.
Now in its sixth year, the 2015 auction was open online for one week and people had the opportunity to place their bids on many ‘money can’t buy’ and ‘unique experience’ prizes. The bidding culminated on Wave 105, Thursday October 8 at hourly intervals throughout the day.
