How it works?  We’ve put together the most frequently asked questions when you decide to hire one of our beautiful camper vans.

But if we’ve missed anything, do get in touch!

Are there set hire periods for hiring a campervan?

You can hire any of our Campervans for a Week (Friday-Friday or Monday-Monday), a Midweek break (Monday-Friday) or a Weekend break (Friday-Monday). We can also offer a day hire in Dylan please contact us to find out availability of day hire. However, if you are looking for something slightly different please contact us on info@newforestsafari.com or 01425 621089.

Can I leave my car with you whilst I have the Campervan?

Of course, we have on-site parking for you to leave your car with us. This is as secure as possible however customer cars are parked in our car parking area at their own risk.

How old do I have to be to hire a Campervan?

Our insurance stipulates that drivers have to be between the ages of 23 and 75. You must have held a full UK licence for at least two years to drive our campervans. Also drivers must have no more than 3 points on their licence. How far can we travel?

Our Classic vehicles must stay within the counties of Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight and have a mileage limit of 50 miles per day. However, our ultra modern T5 “Ash” can go much further afield, exploring the UK. Ash can even travel outside the UK and go into Europe! Please let us know before booking if you are wanting European travel and we will do our best to accommodate as some restrictions do apply! European travel in “Ash” is charged at £15.00 a day.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes, our security deposit is £500.00. This is taken when you arrive to collect the vehicle using either a credit or debit card via a pre-authorisation procedure (so it’s just held against the card). This is then refunded in 10 working days, providing that the van is returned with a full tank of petrol, on time, clean, and that no damage to the vehicle or otherwise has been caused during the hire.

Can I bring my dog with me?

Of course! We love four legged friends, you can take your dog with you in Two of our Bay Windows “Berry and Ocean” there is a small £25 surcharge for this.

Can I buy a gift voucher?

Yes! We can provide gift vouchers for your loved ones for either a set amount of your choice, or you can pre-book your selected van and hire period! We can send these out by either post or email, so don’t worry if you have left it a bit late! Find out more at www.newforestsafari.com/hire-vouchers

What time can I collect the van and then drop it off?

You will be given an exact collection slot once the booking is complete, but collections are available from 1pm, final collections are (strictly) 4pm. Drop off is by 10am on the return date. Again, if you are looking for something slightly different please don’t hesitate to ask, we always try our best to accommodate.

Are your VW Campervans reliable?

Of course! We have Campervan guru Ed Gray on hand and has completed top spec restorations on all our Campervans to make sure they are tip-top for hire! All our Campervans are also given a full check over before and after every hire to make sure everything is still in good condition. Ed is also on hand to you 24/7 so if any issues should arise during your hire you can rest assured he will get you back on the road in no time! We also always keep a spare van, just in case so even if the worst possible scenario happens we will set you back on your VW Campervan journey!

Can we have more than one driver?

Sure, you can name two drivers to drive the Campervan. As long as both drivers comply to all of the insurance points that’s absolutely fine!

How much do I need to pay upon booking?

Upon booking the 25% non-refundable deposit is taken, the remaining balance will then be due six weeks before the hire is due to commence.

What information/documents do I need to bring with me when I collect the van?

For each named driver you will need to bring your photo ID drivers licence, and TWO documents that also show your address, such as utility bill and a bank statement. These forms must be dated within three months of the hire commencement date.

Can I bring my bike?

We can fit a two-cycle bike rack to any of our Bay Windows, please select bike rack upon booking or let us know well in advance that you would like to bring one so we can get this fitted before you get here!

What Campsite should I go too?

The choice is entirely yours! As long as you are within our county and mileage restrictions you can take your pick. However, we do have our recommended camp sites, that we know are great! You can view these at www.newforestsafari.com/camp-sites

Do I need an electric hook up at the campsite?

This varies from van to van, some of our Campervans only need the hook-up if you want to use any external electrical items ie. Electric heater, hairdryers etc. But our “Modern” interiors need the hook up to operate the fridge, oven etc to its full use and also use its sockets. Please check with us if you’re not sure at info@newforestsafari.com or 01425 621089. You will have to make the decision on electric hook up upon booking your pitch at the campsite.
